Yes Kunzvi seems to have been brought back to the drawing board a few times and then shelved again. It would make sense to build it but I think there are some greedy fingers in the tender process pot and nothing has moved forward. I feel it could really make a difference to the city's water woes.

I totally agree, Mr Magaya. It seems everyone is driven by greed these days, and as a result of the shortcuts that are taken, we end up in a dire situation. If only we could all pull together as one community, share our resources and put aside our differences to make this an amazing, incredible country. How hard can that be?

Interesting! I think the next was to be the Kunzvi, dam on the Shanhohwe river, I remember visiting the site way back in the 80s for a geography lesson. That would have been to the east. I wonder what happened to that plan.

@moe_scyslack2:disqus Actually it all started much further back than your simplistic comment. It started with the colonial engineers who made the massive error of directing the flow of sewage from the city to the same place as the source of our drinking water. But let's go back a bit further. Cleveland Dam was built about 100 years ago as the city's first source of water. Being situated roughly north-east of the city, it was a perfect location for a water source as water generally flows in a south-westerly direction in Harare. The engineers back then worked out that the water would flow using gravity to the reservoirs that sit on top of the hill in the Botanical Gardens and from there feed the city. Very clever. However, a few decades on, foolish engineers for some reason decided to build Lake Chivero (McIlwaine) to the east of the city - the same place as Morton Jaffray was built. So you have all the rainwater, polluted storm water and sewage flowing to the source of your drinking water. This is very, very stupid. Why did the city engineers not keep and expand Cleveland Dam as the source of our drinking water? When you mix polluted sewage with your source of drinking water, this is what happens - disease.

In response to the title of this article: YES, HARARE is now a big sewage Pond! I am not sure the total blame lies on the "city fathers" alone, it should be shared by POLICY makers (Local Government ministry and City Fathers) and ultimately the city management team and the residents. Policy directs the tone of how the city is managed, it even influences how the city hires, the team is responsible for day to day management and they are failing and the residents are responsible for the people they choose for city council........ The Bickering among Zimbabweans of different persuasions at the detriment of our beautiful sunshine city is truly tragic. We have defecated in our own house to prove that one is less effective and that is ultimately going to destroy us all. There comes a time when we need to put our heads together and deal with our common enemy as a nation. We are failing not only ourselves but our children and generations to come........We have lost the sense of being and are now totally indifferent to the fortunates of our collective

This is the first article on Castro, which writes a bit more about his African Odysssey. All other newspaper reports so far stop with his history more or less at the Bay of Pigs, as if South Africa must please not be mentioned. The problem journalists probably would encounter by mentioning South Africa together with Cuba, is that some innnocent reader would suddenly hit on a photo or report which will show Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela standing hand in hand working toward the downfall of Apartheid. This might bring some people onto the stupid idea that the current narrative of Mandela as a hero and liberator might perhaps not be so correct after all, and that in fact the Nobel Peace Prize winners Mandela and De Klerk conspired together to hand over South Africa to a communist regime. And that the old "Apartheid" army did not fight to maintain Apartheid, but to defend the country against a communist takeover, and that there were lots of blacks fighting side by side with the "racist" Boers, blacks which escaped the communist hells in Angola and Mozambique in order to fight for their lost Heimat. That would shed a completely different light on the old South Africa, that the "Boers" were perhaps not so wrong after all, and that there are perhaps many more secrets about the Boers which have been suppressed by the main stream media, secrets which would show them to actually be the good guys during the Cold War period and that period which was reformulated as "Apartheid" by that media. http://sadf.info/Communism.html Even more scary would be if these readers would discover the relationship between communism and capitalism, and what was ment by that these two ideologies were two sides of the same coin. Luckily the Berlin Wall fell beforehand and the Soviet Union could not back them financially anymore, or we would have been in even deeper trouble today. The fall of the Berlin Wall (aka Soviet Union) bought us some time, but that time is running out very fast today.

Absolutely!!! However, local partisan interest has been unabated since the PN were kicked away from the national coffers, in two instances by ever increasing historical margins. The PN's 25 year long power era, characterised by institutionalised corruption, led to all these constant attempts at COVER-UP, by blowing even small matters to absurd heights. Is it any wonder many PN insider people, supporters, media and covertly associated sympathetic media houses (playing at being independent!) have lost a huge value from their credibility?

Whether you wanted this or not, the last few years have been a clear indication that our culture is no longer functional given the international communist interest(s) by both the Chinese and the Russians who have put money in front of our faces and used our good name to soil everyone who opposes their uncontrollable authority.

I had some contacts with Joseph Mifsud when he worked for Foreign Minister Michael Frendo and I was ambassador to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. I was impressed by Mifsud’s ability to boast and project a larger-than-life image of himself. He definitely has talents. He also has the ability to make his interlocutors into believe that his talents are a multiple of what they really are. I would not be surprised if, talking to Mifsud, Papadopoulos concluded that Mifsud’s contacts, knowledge and outreach could lead him to the treasure trove of information he was looking for. Indeed Mifsud’s CV (available on http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meetdocs/2009_2014/documents/afet/dv/201/201101/20110126_3_cv_mifsud_en.pdf), is a reflection of the man. If I were interviewing him for a job I would ask him to explain, and be more specific about, the following high-sounding phrases in his CV : «Joseph Mifsud is the President… more than two hundred academic institutions … enhance the cooperation between higher education institutions, contribute to the intercultural dialogue, stimulate the mobility of professors and students and build a challenging and innovative teaching and learning environment … Our objective is to create a network of specialised postgraduate study programmes … International comparability will be ensured … Mifsud is also considered as one of the pioneers in the setting up of EuroMediterranean Professional School … gain international and intercultural experience... Joseph Mifsud has worked, cooperated with and taught extensively in a number of Universities and countries in the Mediterranean and in the world… He was the prime mover of Malta's entry into the EU from the Educational point of view … He has also served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta and represented Malta… In the course of his career he has also participated and/or coordinated most of the Euro-Mediterranean initiatives in higher education organised in the region… Mifsud was also one of the experts in the think tank for the G8 meetings… He currently chairs the Conseil d'Orientation Scientifique … and has chaired a number of conferences in Europe and the Mediterranean.»

It's not an overreaction, I did say "could be ". If the collusion, interference is true, then it's the first time in recent American history where the democratic voting has been interfered with by another country,an enemy . Personally I think it's great, the boot is on the other foot, no regime change, assassination, colour revolution, etc was needed, just $100000 on FB ads, and the release of hacked emails.. The investigation into Trump has moved to another level, charges brought against people close to him, Muller is looking to flip someone, so they tell all, for now they are moving their way up, through people close to Trump. Muller and his team are clutching at straws, I'd say there is no concrete evidence ,even in the so called Steele dossier, but that doesn't mean they will let this go, unless Trump makes a deal, like we saw other week with the JFK files. The thing is, the Russians are very good at this, they know how to hide their tracks and put out deflecting news..

So let me get this straight. Some professor nobody cares about, met with some low-level Trump staffer, whose idea for Trump meet the Russian was shot down by the Trump campaign itself. The meeting never happened. And the title MaltaToday goes by is: "Maltese professor was link between Russians and Donald Trump's campaign team"????? "He was even applauded by the supervisor for the work done."... I mean seriously, why are you outright misleading people, Sansone? This is dishonest. You rely on people not reading the indictment you linked, where it says the staffer acted alone and the Trump campaign rejected the meeting.
