The correct way to combat transfer pricing is to lower one's corporate tax rate so that it is lower than the receiving zone.

"THE WORLD IS MADE UP FOR THE MOST PART OF FOOLS AND KNAVES." - To Mr Clifford, on his Humane Reason. Duke G V Buckingham (1628-87) English politician. "While a financial novice in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament yesterday, I couldn’t help thinking how some multinationals will be licking their lips at the easy pickings now available in South Africa." Spot on on both points. Alec! As always. I salute you, I couldn't have said it better. "a financial novice in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament" - Hell yes, but I think the "financial novice" part is giving Gigaba far too much credit, its being kind to the man, a euphemistic handle for IDIOT. It boggles the mind that the arch-idiot, the Laughing Hyena, good ole JZ, saw it fit to replace a man of Gordhan's stature, expertise, experience, wisdom, and International recognition, with a fool, a knave, in a fake Pilot's uniform. But then we all know why. The Treasury now belongs to the Zuma clan and the Gupta's. Their man is firmly at the helm; that its a fast sinking ship is of little concern, as long as they can get the remaining cargo safely off the ship. That the gullible Captain is going to go down with the ship, of even less importance to the Puppet Masters. "in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament"- Well said, Alec. Thank the Lord he left his SAA Pilot's uniform at home. Smart suit, yes. He can afford it, we're paying for it. "mouthed away" - Precisely, a pre-programmed little automaton reciting what the programmer put in his miniature brain. It must have been Greek to Gigaba. But he had to look his best for the TV cameras. Mouthing away hot air about the mismanagement of the SOE's - but what has he done about it? Other than handing out rescue packages which will soon be gorged and the increasing losses piled on the taxpayer's shoulders, whilst the perpetrators live like Kings at the public's expense. " I couldn’t help thinking how some multinationals will be licking their lips at the easy pickings now available in South Africa." - Exactly! I sincerely doubt whether Gigaba, if challenged, and asked what is "transfer pricing", would be able to give a meaningful answer. He'd probably tell you, whilst scratching his SAA Captain's Cap, "Aisch! Its taking a price sticker from the one packet to put on another packet. Easy! You transfer the price. See?" Whilst unscrupulous (most of them are) multinationals siphon off billions of Rands of profits made at the expense of our struggling economy. Happily engaged, unchallenged, in serious transfer pricing whilst Gigaba, clueless, minds the store for his Masters. Truth is, when Zuma saw it fit to replace Gordhan with this Joker who knows absolutely zilch about Finance and international trading, South Africa lost a sterling Minister of Finance who was busily engaged in trying to salvage the wreck Zuma and his pals created. Unfortunately, Zuma hasn't replaced the outgoing Gordhan yet, the position is still vacant. What about Gigaba? Isn't he the Minister of Finance? NO! He's a proven Gupta lackey, a mere figurehead. A false front. We DON"T have a Minister of Finance competently looking after the Treasury and the other important tasks allotted to him. Instead we have an ignoramus carefully told what to say, what noises to make, what ineffective actions to take to make it APPEAR as if SA has a capable Minister of Finance (I'd love to be a fly on the wall if Gigaba, heaven forbid, is ever engaged in an impromptu debate with real, genuine Financiers) while the behind-the-scenes looting of the Treasury is silently taking place. Alec's closing line, "If you thought education was expensive, try ignorance." is so very apt. Gigaba's absolute ignorance, lack of genuine insight, and of course the fact that he's "captured", all spell bad news for our economy, the people, and the country. Thanks to the ZUPTOIDS we're about to be downgraded once again. The massive shortfall on the Medium Term Budget has to come from somewhere, but after Gigaba's pathetic speech methinks International investors and financiers are stampeding at the exits. Where our "esteemed" "Minister" of Finance is going to source the money from is anybody's guess. Maybe he could try, like a good magician, to pull a Bunny from his Captain's hat. The present state of our economy is fraught with serious, potentially disastrous pitfalls. Rampant inflation, lack of disposable income, wholesale job losses, falling company turnovers and profits, runaway poverty, outrageously increasing crime, severe lack of service delivery, a crumbling nation-wide infrastructure, ridiculous public sector wages, municipal bankruptcies, crippling drought, sickening farm murders, and money-guzzling SOE's run by corrupt, inefficient, unqualified Zuma snouters, and a nearly negative growth rate, to name but a few, all impact on the economy. These factors all have to be taken into consideration when preparing a budget, a task even the inimitable Gordhan will find extremely difficult at present. How the Zuptoids expect Gigaba, of all people, to even try to comprehend this, never mind do something constructive to remedy it, is a mystery. But then, they don't want him to do something about it, he's only there till they've successfully stolen the last cent out of the ailing economy's coffers. AND THE BAND PLAYS ON! AISCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read again my comment. The PN departed from the Westminister model with changes in their statute in the 1970's and were advised by the German CDU-CSU , so that the Party may be transformed into a Demo-Christian Party. Coming now to the country more generally ,the 2-party system PL -PN is in a crisis, it has to be broken down , it cannot continue, it must change to a multi-party. This is what happened in western Europe after end of ww2 , and in central and eastern Europe after 1989. This same change now will happen in Malta and in Anglo-Saxon countries in the Westminister model and eventually in USA too.

by JACK MONTGOMERY31 Oct 2017 Leaked documents listing hundreds of EU parliament members that the George Soros network considers “reliable allies” should raise alarm bells across Europe, says Hungary. The list, which includes 226 MEPs including former President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, seven vice-presidents, and a number of committee heads, coordinators, and quaestors, was circulated within the billionaire open borders campaigner’s Open Society Foundations group, and revealed by DCLeaks. “If this report threatened only Hungary, it wouldn’t be a problem. The Hungarian government has grown accustomed to countering the groundless accusations and false information used by the proponents of this radical open society agenda. But this time it’s not just Hungary. It endangers the future of Europe as a whole,” warned Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Hungary’s secretary of state for Public Diplomacy. The government spokesman questioned how Soros was able to meet with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker with “no transparent agenda for their closed-door meeting”, and pointed out how EU proposals to redistribute quotas of migrants across the EU are eerily familiar to Soros’s own self-published plan for dealing with the crisis. For the Hungarian government, claims about Soros’s influence on EU migration policy which once sounded “like a conspiracy theory” should be seen in a new light with the emergence of the Open Society documents, which “list key players in European institutions that can be counted on as trustworthy allies of the financial speculator’s goals”. Who are the 3 Maltese Mep's appearing in this list ?

In 2005, Michael Savage famously wrote a book titled, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder, the subject of which is self-explanatory. And more recently, Dr. Lyle Rossiter, a board-certified clinical psychologist, wrote a book in which he diagnosed the ideology of the left as a tangible mental illness. Perhaps though, liberalism is not so much a novel mental disorder, but a more cleverly disguised form of illness already widely studied since the late ’60s – narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). The Mayo Clinic defines NPD as “a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration.” This seems in tune with the fact that liberals, along with their degenerate offspring, the Occupy Wall Street movement, believe their policies and platforms fall in the majority – or the 99% if you will – despite being outnumbered by conservatives at a 2-1 clip. There are other symptoms that define NPD and the left alike… 1)Expecting constant praise and admiration This is a staple of the Occupy movement and their constant ‘look at me’ media whoring. The need to feed their pride consumes them, fueling a self-importance that must continue to grow through perpetual media coverage. 2)Being jealous of others The very premise on which the Occupy movement and the liberal platform of wealth redistribution are based is jealousy. They want what others have, and they want it without cost to themselves, either monetarily or based on time. They are envious of those with wealth, health insurance, homes, etc. It is a common attribute upon which all liberal protesters rally around. 3)Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans Is there anything that personified this more than the Obamacare fight? The measure was opposed by likely voters by a wide margin, 54-41 percent. Yet it was still rammed down the collective throats of the American people. Why? Because liberals honestly thought that once the plebeians had a chance to see their ideas, they would go along with it. Proof of this materialized when Nancy Pelosi uttered these famous words: “… We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” 4)Setting unrealistic goals Those crazy kids over at the OWS website, at one point gave us a list of humorous demands that included these deep-seated liberal fantasies. Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment Free college education Open borders migration Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all The liberal politician’s equivalent of this list would be: Extending unemployment benefits ad nauseam Student loan forgiveness Illegal immigration amnesty (DREAM Act) Postponement of foreclosures All were under consideration by the Obama administration. 5)A sense of entitlement The liberal movement amounts to nothing more than making excuses to legitimize a platform of laziness and entitlements. We see this in the Occupy protests. Their solution to counter corporate greed is to steal from those that have worked hard to attain their level of wealth, and give to those who refuse to reach such a work ethic. Money for nothing, or entitlement, seems to be a birthright for the left. 6)Trouble keeping healthy relationships Too easy. Does this sound like a group of individuals with relationship issues? A 24-year-old convicted sex offender having sex with a 14-year-old at Occupy Dallas. Rapes and instances of groping in New York’s Zuccotti Park. One rape victim was alleged to have been a deaf man. A female protester raped at Occupy Philadelphia. Women Only sleeping quarters had to be erected at the New York encampment. A permit was yanked in Madison, Wisconsin, due to public masturbation. A Los Angeles protester arrested for masturbating in front of children. All of these symptoms seem to define an individual who is unable to express their frustration in a rational manner – hence the glitter bombing. The Mayo Clinic diagnosis seems to speak to the glitter-loving liberals directly: “In order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better.” Problem being; only you believe these actions make you look better. In the end, Savage was right. Liberalism is a mental disorder. Just not a new one.

The 2-party system has finally started the process to be broken. The 3rd June election - if it served for nothing - served to make our 2 Party system look more fragile. Our development to a multi-party system (although not yet secured ) cannot be blocked so easily as heretofore (as in the days of Jimmy Magro). Any new parties that may now be represented in our Parliament have to thank the Nationalist Party for this development - who accepted various candidates from different walks of life to appear on their Party list

To get out of the hole the country is in , we need the support of the European Parliament and the guidance we can receive from the leadership of the political groups within the EP. The Democratic Party (PD) needs to establish its identity. If PD is accepted as a member of ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe), this will be a good sign for the PD and for Malta. In such a case the PD will add another first. This will be the first time, since Malta joined the EU in 2004, that more than 2 political groups of the EP are represented in our National Parliament . Our political parties will in this way enrich their experience and understand better the European dimension of which they form a part.
