It all sounds great, until the first connected car gets hacked in such a way that it results in a fatal accident. As much as people are 'yearning for connectivity' it should not be overlooked that the first such incident of hacking could sink a brand that commits too quickly and too broadly. Digital security is becoming more important than ever and yet we still don't seem to have proper control of it. gold bullion bars

Well stated... You sound like Patrick Daniel Moynihan, USA's once-ambassador to the UN. He was deemed too honest for such a diplomatic position - but he made his mark; and many remember how "diplomacy" at one time didn't mean lying about issues which make us uncomfortable.

[At least the cat would provide some entertainment, as the focus of the dogs' attention] Now that she's the focus of the UK's SFO (and hopefully, of the FBI), she's getting attention which she doesn't want. As the facts emerge, she'll likely be implicated in many instances of fraud and money-laundering. The West stood by the ANC for all those years, until the Rev Alan Boesak stole all that Scandinavian cash; and had his bookkeeper whacked (while in prison, ready to testify!). After this, many Western donor nations realised that the ANC and its sanctimonious "officers" were no different to Mugabe... If Mr de Klerk had waited another decade; and repealed all apartheid laws during that time, South Africa would be the shining example of post-colonial success - educating its youth, wealthy and thriving, with functioning hospitals, schools and teacher-training colleges, just as Zimbabwe-Rhodesia had started gaining such a reputation, until Mugabe started his reign of terror and murder; and with the help of North Korean (and some of his own) shock troops, started a series of horrors, beginning with the deliberate murder of 20,000 of his N'debele brothers; and culminating in the farm expropriations, which collapsed- and doomed the country which he had promised to save... Let's hope that we get sufficient facts on this dark (!) lady (!!). At least we'll get all the news on the SFO's findings - the Western news media are not (yet) hobbled by political correctness where Africa is the topic. (Of course, if she converted to Islam, it might be another story for the UK media)

We don't know how mortal this cANCer infection is as the death penalty is abolished. Unfortunately SA has the obligation to keep all these infected alive to "defend" themselves as per constitution. This can take many years as 783 has proven. The only solution I see: all informative and reliable courses should make the greatest effort to put this corrupt government out of action by NO ANC VOTERS in 2019 and promote a reliable coalition government without ANC.

Love it - these zupta financial criminals try blame the west, foreign operatives, the bogeyman, the tokoloshie, witches, third forces and anyone else they can think of, for their own ignorance of the potential consequences of laundering stolen tax monies and ill gotten gains using international banks and tools to try hide it, and all through their own avaricious greed, and now they expect to garner sympathy for their wrong doing ? It was you who did the crime, now you face the consequences! South African tax payers want our stolen monies paid back into South African tax coffers.

I beg to differ. In as much as she did hit people of any colour. Example Delia just recently, she also hit at journalists that she felt weren't doing their job investigating well enough!!! She was not being honoured all over Malta and the world for nothing!!! You're probably a labour supporter so I can understand your stand on the matter!!!

you have completely missed the point of the article. Daphne was a good investigative journalist and despised criminals and bent politicians. Unfortunately she also despised innocent labour leaning voters and used strong words to discredit and shame her own kin. So none of this loyalty towards Malta please. May she rest in peace.

And yet you write this while clutching a PL flag in your hand, do you not see the irony? Many of the people protesting are not PN supporters or voters. Some voted Labour for at least the last 2 elections. These are not repeating what some PN bigwig said. Some of us have had enough of the abuse of power, WHOEVER did or continues to do so. Rule of law does not exist when police commissioners do not investigate FIAU reports with a clear suspicion of illegal activity. Rule of law does not exist when a police force stands by while a bank flagged in the same report is emptied of documents. Of course these could all be unsubstantiated claims but with the potential proof gone we may never know. Lastly Malta is being harmed abroad because it's top 2 in government were implicated in Panama papers and are still in office. The current government was voted in so calls for a change in government are ridiculous. I don't want either PL or PN. Neither is fit for for the job. My hope is that enough people can rally behind a new party - but wait, the current duopoly makes that extremely difficult. We want change not PN.

So if I am carrying the PL flag are you waving the PN one? I never mentioned the protesters and what their political allegiance might be. I was commenting on what Mr Falzon's article, which in my opinion is very levelled headed and reflects exactly how we Maltese think politically. So why do you jump to conclusions? I agree with you that Malta needs a real change and like you I think this is very hard to come by given our political psyche.

In Daphne's case, her vilification assumed political and systematic dimensions. Prime Minister Muscat called general elections because of a case she was investigating. Journalists are doing their job when they investigate politicians. Politicians are to accept this reality in a democratic country and not hit back by a vilification campaign. Such is the case in a country under a dictatorial regime.

The media is today considered the 4th Estate , therefore as an investigative journalist Daphne was part of the state. That is why the European Parliament commemorated her death and are naming a hall in the European Parliament Building in Strassburg , after her.

She threw allegations around like she was throwing confetti at a wedding, no proof and ready to harm anyone in her hatred to harm her enemies. Daphne was an investigative journalist , who wrote on the abuses committed by politicians. Politicians or persons at the service of politicians in turn reacted by vilifying her , calling her a witch and many other names. That already is very irregular behaviour since journalists have to be respected and not vilified. Then she was killed. Her killing is a political murder because the reason for her murder was political, namely shutting her up , so that she will not continue divulging the abuses of politicians. There is no doubt that since the motive of the crime was silencing Daphne- a political act- the murder was political.
