The correct way to combat transfer pricing is to lower one's corporate tax rate so that it is lower than the receiving zone.

"THE WORLD IS MADE UP FOR THE MOST PART OF FOOLS AND KNAVES." - To Mr Clifford, on his Humane Reason. Duke G V Buckingham (1628-87) English politician. "While a financial novice in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament yesterday, I couldn’t help thinking how some multinationals will be licking their lips at the easy pickings now available in South Africa." Spot on on both points. Alec! As always. I salute you, I couldn't have said it better. "a financial novice in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament" - Hell yes, but I think the "financial novice" part is giving Gigaba far too much credit, its being kind to the man, a euphemistic handle for IDIOT. It boggles the mind that the arch-idiot, the Laughing Hyena, good ole JZ, saw it fit to replace a man of Gordhan's stature, expertise, experience, wisdom, and International recognition, with a fool, a knave, in a fake Pilot's uniform. But then we all know why. The Treasury now belongs to the Zuma clan and the Gupta's. Their man is firmly at the helm; that its a fast sinking ship is of little concern, as long as they can get the remaining cargo safely off the ship. That the gullible Captain is going to go down with the ship, of even less importance to the Puppet Masters. "in a smart suit mouthed away in Parliament"- Well said, Alec. Thank the Lord he left his SAA Pilot's uniform at home. Smart suit, yes. He can afford it, we're paying for it. "mouthed away" - Precisely, a pre-programmed little automaton reciting what the programmer put in his miniature brain. It must have been Greek to Gigaba. But he had to look his best for the TV cameras. Mouthing away hot air about the mismanagement of the SOE's - but what has he done about it? Other than handing out rescue packages which will soon be gorged and the increasing losses piled on the taxpayer's shoulders, whilst the perpetrators live like Kings at the public's expense. " I couldn’t help thinking how some multinationals will be licking their lips at the easy pickings now available in South Africa." - Exactly! I sincerely doubt whether Gigaba, if challenged, and asked what is "transfer pricing", would be able to give a meaningful answer. He'd probably tell you, whilst scratching his SAA Captain's Cap, "Aisch! Its taking a price sticker from the one packet to put on another packet. Easy! You transfer the price. See?" Whilst unscrupulous (most of them are) multinationals siphon off billions of Rands of profits made at the expense of our struggling economy. Happily engaged, unchallenged, in serious transfer pricing whilst Gigaba, clueless, minds the store for his Masters. Truth is, when Zuma saw it fit to replace Gordhan with this Joker who knows absolutely zilch about Finance and international trading, South Africa lost a sterling Minister of Finance who was busily engaged in trying to salvage the wreck Zuma and his pals created. Unfortunately, Zuma hasn't replaced the outgoing Gordhan yet, the position is still vacant. What about Gigaba? Isn't he the Minister of Finance? NO! He's a proven Gupta lackey, a mere figurehead. A false front. We DON"T have a Minister of Finance competently looking after the Treasury and the other important tasks allotted to him. Instead we have an ignoramus carefully told what to say, what noises to make, what ineffective actions to take to make it APPEAR as if SA has a capable Minister of Finance (I'd love to be a fly on the wall if Gigaba, heaven forbid, is ever engaged in an impromptu debate with real, genuine Financiers) while the behind-the-scenes looting of the Treasury is silently taking place. Alec's closing line, "If you thought education was expensive, try ignorance." is so very apt. Gigaba's absolute ignorance, lack of genuine insight, and of course the fact that he's "captured", all spell bad news for our economy, the people, and the country. Thanks to the ZUPTOIDS we're about to be downgraded once again. The massive shortfall on the Medium Term Budget has to come from somewhere, but after Gigaba's pathetic speech methinks International investors and financiers are stampeding at the exits. Where our "esteemed" "Minister" of Finance is going to source the money from is anybody's guess. Maybe he could try, like a good magician, to pull a Bunny from his Captain's hat. The present state of our economy is fraught with serious, potentially disastrous pitfalls. Rampant inflation, lack of disposable income, wholesale job losses, falling company turnovers and profits, runaway poverty, outrageously increasing crime, severe lack of service delivery, a crumbling nation-wide infrastructure, ridiculous public sector wages, municipal bankruptcies, crippling drought, sickening farm murders, and money-guzzling SOE's run by corrupt, inefficient, unqualified Zuma snouters, and a nearly negative growth rate, to name but a few, all impact on the economy. These factors all have to be taken into consideration when preparing a budget, a task even the inimitable Gordhan will find extremely difficult at present. How the Zuptoids expect Gigaba, of all people, to even try to comprehend this, never mind do something constructive to remedy it, is a mystery. But then, they don't want him to do something about it, he's only there till they've successfully stolen the last cent out of the ailing economy's coffers. AND THE BAND PLAYS ON! AISCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you. Dr Simon Busuttil politically was irresponsible when he blindly made use of the allegations by Daphne. Now the same mistake is being done by Adrian Delia also for political reasons. The trouble is, where corruption is rampant, there is no way of stopping it, because, by way of it's very nature, either money, or advantage, will serve to make anything possible. Those who try to engage 'head on' with corruption, are doomed to extinction - either in one way or another. We all know that corruption, transferring from the head of one snake, to another, changes nothing for the ordinary citizen. The best that those, who exist in the 'Gulag' can expect, is the appearance of the control of low level corruption - which is expected to generate appreciation by those same folk! What really makes ones blood run cold, is the knowledge that somewhere, at the highest level, a contract was placed with total professionals - no doubt costing an eye watering amount of money, which has to come from somewhere. Add to that, the offer of a 1 Million Euro reward - which , I'm sure, could easily be multiplied by a factor of ten, without fear of it being claimed! It does make you wonder, how those, who live by the sword, may sleep at night.

Wrong about corruption. Corruption exists wherever humans exist. It is the level that is worrisome and the fact that politicians do nothing about it, like in the PN power era when pardons were the order of the day (in order to shut up the criminals from exposing the real criminals). Now a completely different approach is taken. Investigations are carried out and miscreants are brought to book. Just refer to MT. Yes we have had a first class rule of law DESPITE the PN's (Simple Simon) efforts to destabilise and damage the country, its institutions and its economy.

This has all become a farce - one created by the most incompetent and corrupt political party in Malta - PN. DCG, with the anti-Labour vitriol, was identified as one of the reasons why PN both the 2013 and 2017 elections. Over the last few months we have all witnessed a tidal wave of anger, from within PN, against DCG. After the murder PN has tried to take the high ground by pointing the finger at the PM, but it was them who were continually attacking DCG - the hostility against her, as recorded in a number of messages, was obvious. And now, these "neutrals", with their anti-Labour protests are being led by PN itself!! Unbelievable. To me, they are exploiting DCG's death for pure political mileage. They couldn't care less about the woman, they just want to score points. Luckily, the Maltese are wiser than PN gives them credit for, and they can see PN's duplicity as clearly as daylight.

All MALTESE of good faith fed up listening a Nationalist rethoric from Proffessors, Advocates, Chief Justice's, and more over from Archbishop's,. People of good faith do not want to hear politics anymore they simply want Justice to be implemented. I have some INTERESTING questions to all Proffessors and to all Esteemed Society. May I ask the Chief Justice why in year 2008 opened the Majesty Court Doors to hear a case by urgency regarding a drug case and after 1000000 years the case was dismissed At that time when I really believe that Malta under the Supreme Nationalist Government and according to Honorable Gentleman Clyde Pull on this week XTRA Program presented by Mr Saviour Balzan said that under Nationalist Government cannot be mistaken because they used to be infallible therefore the Police Commissioner was of Extra Confidence was there some impunity culture on this case? I would like to ask the Chief Justice why according to Chief of Chief's of Justice Dr.Simon Busuttil was of the strongest believe that Magistrat Aaron Bugeja had to take Ipso Facto measures and immediately arrest the accused after Dr SIMON BUSUTTIL finish his Alibi address on the podium. People including Sinjor Tajani asking what happened that day the AG obstacle this matter, The Police Commissioner, obstacle this matter, The Chamber of Advocates obstacle this matter Surely not you Mr Chief Justice obstacle this matter let me ask now was it the interesting phrase as expressed by Professor Henry Frendo Impunity Culture? People are not interested in Sitting pretty commentators, people are interested to see if those Bibjoteka files presented in court as Alibi were relevant to the case. Otherwise one must admit gracefully that the ex and current Leader Dr SIMON BUSUTTIL was simply dreaming on his agenda and not of the National interest.

This piece as refused to be shown on TMI and TTM as is always the case in my respect. Always Say It As It Is. Most people especially Labourites, would think that I lost my marbles or has a lose screw or something. I my opinion, Delia had all the right to say exactly what he felt he felt, especially when he was being continuously attacked by the most poisonous, >>> Bicca Blogger <<< as he rightly describe her. Her barbarous murder does change the true of the Matter, in any way. Defni was prepared to destroy anyone she targets and his or her whole family, for her personal gratification and advancement and hers alone, as she did all her life. Her Barbaric death change anything. It doesn't doesn't transform her from the Wicked Witch of Il-Bidnija into St Dafni. The Virgin Saint of Il-Bidnija. Certainly I wouldn't expect, that a church would be built in her honour, especially if I am not mistaken, she wasn't a believer. At least as far as I know. she never followed any catholic teaching. I am more then sure, that her Barbaric death, brings great relief and yes pleasure, to most of those that had to suffer, because of her Vicious attacked, she made against them and their family, as she tried to completely destroy all those that stands in the way of her personal ambition and self-gratifications. Her death doesn't transform or make her into a defender of democracy. Nor from being very deservingly known, as the Wicked Witch of Il-Bidnija. She only defended her own interest and her own alone, not even her own family, because her recklessness, put her whole family in the aim of most of her enemies. Delia made another very serious Blander, along the chain of mishaps that haunted him since being elected, by apologising to someone who doesn't deserve his apologies or anyone else for that matter. He was being perfectly honest and had the right in a democracy to rebut, all her viciously accusation , the same way she attack him correct. Every person has every right to express his view in particular Delia, in the way DCG attacked him. and wanted to personally destroy him. After all it is only human nature to defend yourself when someone is trying to destroy you. He is also a human nature , and in this case For Delia to try metaphorically to destroy Daffi as she was trying desperately, trying to destroy him. It goes with the territory Daffi herself, chose to wonder in. Finally, I Beleive that Delia Made his greatest Mistake yet, when he apologised to someone who doesn't deserves an apology from anyone, when she spent all her life making the lives of other as miserable as she possibly could. His Fake Apology was completely rebuffed by her sister and this might easily be the proverbial, last feather that broke the Camel's Back, Delia being the Camel here. Delia , Personally I think you are doomed and the being of the end for the PN, is approaching faster then anyone ever anticipated.

It is the PN modus operandi to destroy a person; physically, mentally or morally. They will resort to anything in order to satisfy their lust and greed for power. The Strickland issue was one of them You had the Terinu lie, then the attempted murder. I mean, can you ever accept any person bad mouthing your country? I have never ever heard any Labour exponent bad mouthing Malta when in opposition. I have seen this only here with the PN. A huge chunk of Americans are totally against Trump. They call him anything.
